So it has been about 2 weeks since I started my business fully. I still don't have a 1st client, but hoping to have 1 soon. What do u think is the hardest part about becoming an independent travel agent? I thought it would be setting up the business, but it turns out I was wrong. Setting up the business was actually the easy part. There are a few other things that take a lot more effort. The first thing would be getting your 1st client. If you have been in the business for a while and are just stepping into your own it may be a little easier because people will already know you as a travel agent. But if your just starting out you've got to keep plugging away until someone says, "yes book me a vacation." I think probably the hardest thing after that is keeping up with all the social media. You need to be posting everyday on several social media's to get the word out there and try to get people to remember you when they start thinking about vacationing. It's a lot of work. I did receive my business cards yesterday so I'm am sending them with my husband to his work, and having my mom and sisters hand them out to people they know. Hopefully we'll get our first client soon. But don't worry I will keep plugging away at it so that the next time you need help planning a journey we'll be here. Soooooo! Come journey with us!
