My name is Amanda Keller and as you can guess I love to travel. I have been married for 25 years and have 5 children, all of them teenagers or full grown now. As a child I was raised in a family that didn't have much money so travel didn't happen very often, and when it did, it didn't go so well. Either I was too young to remember it or some tragedy happened that we couldn't go. As an adult traveling has been a little more frequent, though with 5 kids not as frequent as I would have liked. And I have to admit that a lot of my traveling was done because we had moved someplace new for my husband's work, but even local exploration is traveling. I have spent most of my adult life as a stay at home mom with a few odd jobs here and there to help out with income. I am also an organizing kind of person. I had my kids birthdays planned 2 months ahead and Christmas presents bought by October so it's no wonder that I love researching places to travel to. I can spend hours researching vacations and am constantly planning and changing future trips as I find out more information. The last 2 years has been spent trying to figure out what I want to do with the rest of my life. My youngest was 12 and my oldest had moved out and had a child of his own. I felt the need to go back to work so that I could save up for my dream vacations (notice I said vacations not vacation), but being a stay at home mom for 20 years makes it really hard to find a job that you really like. I quickly figured out that I don't really want to work to someone else"s schedule or rules. So I became an independent contractor for grocery delivery. For 1 1/2 years I worked 60 hours a week to earn enough money to finally take my dream Christmas vacation, which I will talk about in my next post. I am now also planning our next trip coming up very soon. Though I like my job it isn't something I want to do for the rest of my life so I thought long and hard about what I really want to do. Of course, I thought, I love planning trips and traveling. I love seeing my family enjoy themselves doing things that I planned for them. So after lots of research I decided to become a travel agent and here we are. I will be posting as often as possible about trips I've taken or want to take, some travel tips, and just some funny stories along the way. I hope to here from you soon so we can plan your next journey!
