Tips for traveling abroad

If u are or are thinking about traveling internationally here are some tips for u to know
Make sure you have a passport and be sure to make copies of it. If your passport gets lost or stolen u will have a copy of your identity to get an emergency one. On this note make sure u don't need a visa from the country your going to.
Research the country your going to. Make sure u understand their customs and culture. Find out if u need to exchange money before you go. If the country speaks a different language learn the basics: hello, thank you etc.
Check what the weather is going to be like and pack accordingly. Also try not to overpack or pack to fancy. You may have to take your luggage on public transport or up and down stairs. You can always do laundry if need be. Make sure u bring useful technology like your phone and a backup charging battery for it.
Stay safe. Make sure u look up if there are unsafe places to go and avoid those if possible. Make sure u know the safest way to get around. Most important check to make sure there is no travel warnings for that country.
Get travel insurance with emergency health care. You never know when a medical emergency is going to happen and some places will expect you to pay upfront but travel insurance will cover it. It will also help with delayes that make you stay longer, financial losses, cancelled or delayed flights. The US embassy can only do so much travel insurance can help.
Learn how to deal with jet lag. There are several options so find 1 that works for you. Try not to nap on your 1st day abroad as it will make you groggy and off schedule.
